Telangana: Official fined Rs 1,000 for not wearing mask in Jagtial | Hyderabad News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: An official was imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 for not wearing mask at a meeting in Jagtial district on Wednesday.
At a meeting in Kodimyala village convened at the Mandal Parishad Development Office (MPDO), veterinary officer Prasad came without wearing a mask. The MPDO Ramesh who noticed this imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on him.
Choppadandi legislator Sunke Ravi Shankar also attended the same meeting but he also did not wear a mask. However, no fine was imposed on him.
Because of the spread of Covid-19 in the state, wearing masks is being enforced strictly. Senior officials too are wearing masks while conducting meetings. It has been made mandatory for everyone attending the meetings to make sure they wear a mask.
There has been a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in Jagtial district. In the last one week, 78 Covid cases were reported in the district.
